Tegallalang Rice Terraces in Ubud is famous for its beautiful scenes of rice paddies involving the subak (traditional Balinese cooperative irrigation system), which according to history, was passed down by a revered holy man named Rsi Markandeya in the eighth century. Tegallalang forms the three most splendid terraced landscapes in Ubud's shared region, with the others being in the villages of Pejeng and Campuhan.
Tegallang alone has an outlook that spreads down before you and away to the rice terraces on the slopes across the valley. The high roadside location is cool and breezy and it is a well-known spot for tourists to stop and take photos. Painters and nature lovers also enjoy visiting this spot, and there are numerous art kiosks and cafes near the ledge offering their ware.

Tukad Cepung Waterfall is definitely one of the most unique spots in Bali. With sun rays that beam through the falls, here’s everything you need to know. Located just outside of Ubud, we visited Tukad Cepung Waterfall before our trip to Tibumana Waterfall and it turned out to be one of our favourite waterfalls near Ubud. This epic waterfall has an adventurous, jungle like trail leading up to it and is famous for its crazy sun rays that shine through!.
Of all the Bali waterfalls, Tukad Cepung Waterfall was the most unique and magical one we visited. It’s becoming a hotspot amongst tourists, as well a very popular Instagram location. The walk to get down to Tukad Cepung was straight forward and easy enough. Although, unlike most Bali waterfalls, this one you had to wade through a knee-high river and over a few rocks to get there.
